A mild discussion last night led me in a roundabout way to learn more about my family legacy. Who my biological grandmother was leads me to learning more about pioneer women in Saskatchewan, using the back gate.
I remember bits and pieces my mother mentioned. I once thought she was telling stories.
A few years ago I discovered then as I am now learning more, that she wasn’t wrong at all. At the age of six, her memory was more vivid than one thinks.
Today, I’m reading Nell Wilson Parsons, Willa Cather, and several others. I’m covering The Plains as much as I can.
