Tomorrow is July 29th. It’s a special day. Ken Burns was born in 1953. I was, too.

I met him decades ago. He was bright and intelligent then, just as he is now and just getting his foot in the door as a great and ethical filmaker.

I’ve seen and loved everything he’s ever created. PBS is his go-to venue. It’s my favorite source just in general.

I may be his biggest silent fan. Maybe. All I know is I wish him a very long and prosperous life. In my world he’ll live forever.

Happy Birthday, Ken. Have a piece of cake. Enjoy. Know that you are greatly admired.
