I am retired. Monday as an entity means virtually nothing to me. These days I read and research 7 days a week. There are no holidays or weekends or vacations.

I did some reading yesterday that probably means nothing to my story, but it gives a little understanding to the environment into which my mother was born. That part of Saskatchewan had a more indigenous flavor to it. It doesn’t contribute to the story at all, but I can feel it in my head.

That’s the thing. Everything you read gives you an opportunity for a unique descriptor for different parts of the story, whether it’s someone else’s historical fiction or a bit of history itself.

I think writers in general will agree with me.
